Terms of Use
These terms are the ground rules for using Snug, a personal home-library app that tracks the books you own, lend out, and borrow. By creating an account or using the app you agree to them and to the Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Snug.
Who runs Snug
Snug is an independent project by Apoorv Deshmukh, not a company. "We" in these terms means Apoorv Deshmukh.
Who can use it
You must be at least 13 years old. Snug is not directed at children under 13. You're responsible for the account you create and for keeping your sign-in details private.
Your content and how you behave
You can add books, notes, comments and photos (covers, condition photos, shelf scans, a profile picture). You own what you add. You give us permission to store it and show it to the people you choose to share it with, only so the app can work.
Please don't use Snug to post or send anything that:
- is illegal, harassing, threatening, hateful, or sexually explicit;
- shows or promotes violence or self-harm;
- infringes someone else's rights or privacy, including photos of people who haven't agreed;
- is spam, or tries to break, scrape, or overload the app or its service.
There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour.
Reporting and blocking
Every note from another user has a Report link, and you can block anyone from Friends or from a friend request. Blocked people are managed in Settings → Blocked people. We review reports and aim to act on them within 24 hours. We may remove content, or suspend or delete an account, that breaks these terms. To reach us directly, email support@getsnugapp.com.
Photos and AI features
Shelf and barcode scans are sent to an AI service to read book titles, and every photo you add is checked automatically for safety and to confirm it shows a book. The Privacy Policy lists who receives what. AI results can be wrong, so please check the books it finds before you save them.
Loans are between you and other people
Snug is a record-keeping tool. It doesn't lend, deliver, insure, or guarantee the return of any book, and we aren't a party to any loan between you and someone else. Reminders and nudges are sent on a best-effort basis and may be delayed or missed, so please don't rely on them alone. Any dispute about a book is between you and the other person.
Availability and changes to the app
Snug is free and is provided as it is. It may change, have bugs, or be unavailable at times, and we may add, change, or remove features. Keep your own copy of anything you can't afford to lose.
Ending your use
You can stop at any time. Settings → Delete Account permanently removes your books, loans, photos, and account. We may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these terms or misuses the service.
Disclaimers and limits
To the fullest extent the law allows, Snug is provided without warranties of any kind, and we aren't liable for lost, damaged, or unreturned books, lost data, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the law that can't be waived.
Apple and Google
If you get Snug from the Apple App Store or Google Play, these terms are between you and us, not Apple or Google. Apple's standard license agreement for apps also applies on iOS. Apple and Google have no obligation to provide support or maintenance for Snug.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, this page will be updated and the effective date above will change. Continuing to use Snug after a change means you accept the updated terms.
